I never wake up at the same time. Sometimes at 4, some-times at 8, it depends on the job. Let’s say, 7, 7:30. First thing I think about is, what’s the weather like? I spend 45 milnutes getting ready. I shower, three minutes for makeup, I can be really fast, especially during fashion week. Throw it on! It all depends on the weather, and it depends what is new in my closet that I can wear. I have no rules.
In New York, Juice Press is my breakfast. I like the berry and wheat grass, or avocado toast. I Uber to work every single day. It’s a mobile office. My life is all about the clothing, the boards, pictures. Portable boards and folders everywhere I go. I never use my desk. It’s crazy. The libraries and my computer are more important. I go to W to prep the shoots. I don’t have an office there, I sit with all the girls and all the racks in the closet. I’m always on my phone.
I don’t have a typical day. I don’t have a routine, I don’t even know what it means. My routine is the show season. Isn’t that sad? What did I do today? Well, today I decided to be quiet. I went to Opening Ceremony and Comme des Garçons, had lunch with my friends and at uni and toro. Because I had the day off I went to check out Opening Ceremony and ACNE. It was too cold, I was defrosting in stores. I just bought one top in Comme des Garçons.
This morning I worked on e-mails in preparation for the shows that I have — talking to designers about everything. I’m constantly overwhelmed. I can’t survive without my phone. I have to, it’s my work, I can’t do without my phone. I listen to music on the way to the airport, and on shoots. It’s usually the photographer’s playlist, which is pretty painful 85 percent of the time, and then Spotify when I go to the airport.
I’m going to the basketball game tonight — Knicks and the Celtics. I love anti-fashion things. I just adore them. I love nothing more than something like a night out at a basketball game eating hotdogs. And, the props.
I love buying them all. I recently made lasagna and tortellini. I like cooking. In New York, it’s impossible for me. You need time.
I work a lot at night, “batgio” comes from there. Creatively, I work better at night. It’s quiet for the research.
I get to bed pretty late, it can be 1 or 2. I take a shower to wash off the stress of the day, especially if I’ve been in the studio. I take one in the morning and one in the evening to wash it out.
I get stressed already for fashion week because I know I’m not even going to have the time to pee. I don’t really have a ritual. Maybe I buy a few new stuff because I’m excited to wear them for the show. But then again, maybe not.
