NEW YORK, August 2017-Bergdorf Goodman has announced an exciting, multi-tiered collaboration with stylist, fashion editor and creative director Giovanna Battaglia Engelbert to celebrate the fall release of Gio_Graphy: Fun in the Wild World of Fashion, her new book of photography and fashion, published by Rizzoli. Linda Fargo, Senior Vice President, Women's Fashion Director and Store Presentation, has long wanted to team up with Giovanna and Gio_Graphy, with its humorous and chic take on travel, style and living your most glamorous life, presented the perfect opportunity. As Linda notes of Giovanna, "She makes 'chic' cheeky, and the most revered fashion her playground. Secretly, I want to come back in my next life as Mia Gio, but for now with Gio_Graphy I can get as close as possible to what it's like to take a fashionable riot of a ride through her irreverent life in her stylist pockets!"

Collaboration with them and with Linda, who is a dear friend, is like the fashion equivalent of a Pulitzer Prize for me. When I showed her Gio_Graphy, the idea of working together evolved organically."
The festivities will kick off on Saturday, September 2, when Bergdorf Goodman unveils a special display across the Fifth Avenue windows designed in partnership with Giovanna. The window exhibitions honor the mutual stylish respect between Giovanna and Bergdorf Goodman. The partnership will continue in store with a curated pop-up shop on the Third Floor and host a book signing that features a collectible edition of Gio_Graphy exclusive to Bergdorf Goodman. She has also designed T-shirts exclusively for this collaboration, to be carried in-store and will also be available online at BG.com.
In partnership with the Bergdorf Goodman team and David Hoey, Senior Director for Visual Presentation, Giovanna will design a series of whimsical tableaux for the store's Fifth Avenue windows inspired by the fashion themes in the "My Favorite Color is..." chapter of Gio_Graphy. "My dream has always been to live inside the fantasies in the windows of Bergdorf Goodman," says Giovanna. Taking a more expansive approach to the idea of color in Gio_Graphy, Giovanna creates her own version of the color wheel with hues like "shine," "animal" and "rainbow." Comprised of her favorite looks from Bergdorf Goodman's Fall Collections and a large GIO sign encrusted with over 100,000 Swarovski crystals, the displays, which run from Saturday, September 2 through Tuesday, September 19, will echo the mix of charm and glamour that characterizes both Gio_Graphy and Giovanna's stylish aesthetic.
THE POP-UP SHOP
Envisioning the Fall Collections through her signature "Gio lens," Giovanna will share a personal edit of her favorite ready-to-wear and accessories, utilizing the iconic store as the ultimate closet and playground, in a pop-up shop on Bergdorf Goodman's Third Flor. Organized around the same "My Favorite Color is..." theme present in her window displays, the shop will offer customers the opportunity to immerse themselves in the visual whimsy of Gio_Graphy, a playful approach to fashion and dressing up, the boutique will be open from September 1 through September 19.
"What I like about these themes is they aren't overtly trendy--and they incorporate pieces that can be evergreen components of your wardrobe," says Giovanna.
THE BOOK SIGNING
Gio_Graphy doesn't officially release until later this fall, but Bergdorf Goodman customers will get the exclusive opportunity to purchase a special edition of Gio_Graphy. Additionally, they wil have the chance to meet Giovanna and have copies of this special edition signed by her at an event on the Third Floor on Saturday, September 9 from 2:30-4pm
Riffing on the irreverent fashion themes and sayings in Gio_Graphy, Giovanna has created an exclusive collection of T-shirts for Bergdorf Goodman. "If Audrey Hepburn had a T-shirt, what would she have?" says Giovanna of the tees' classy, high-necked silhouette. The graphic designs feature witty slogans--such as "More is More" and "The Power of Red"--that allow wearers to incorporate Gio_Graphy's humorous spirit into their own wardrobe. The collection wouldn't be complete without a limited edition, Swarovski rainbow crystal T-shirt that says "My Favorite Color is".
